While eduKURa is taking measures to combat false profiles, we recommend that you take these precautions as well.
Working With Children Check: Make sure the tutor you are about to employ has a current WWCC.
Review student feedback: Look at the tutor's student feedback, which includes lesson ratings and reviews, to learn more about them. Because some tutors are new to eduKURa, they do not have lesson ratings or student comments. In this instance, you might ask the tutor for outside references before proceeding.
Have an adult present: If the student is under the age of eighteen, an adult should always be present when tutoring takes place.
Keep personal information private: In early e-mail exchanges or communications, never mention your last name, e-mail address, home address, phone number, workplace, or any other identifying information. Stop engaging with anyone who asks for personal or financial information or tries to get you to reveal it in any way. Do not share personal contact information with eduKURa until you are entirely comfortable and payment information is on file.
Your unique homepage is the Student Dashboard! You may mail instructors with whom you've had lessons, modify your account details and profile, and reply to any outstanding alerts from there.
By checking the "Interested Tutors" area, you'll be able to find more tutors, rate your last lesson, and start a dialogue with any tutors who have messaged you.
You may also join your online lesson from the left-hand side. Simply pick your tutor by clicking the blue "Join My Online Lesson" button.

It is important that you read the Student Payment Policy with Terms & Conditions.
Edukura is a marketplace that connects individuals looking for tutoring services with those looking to give tutoring services.
For this policy, Edukura Pty Ltd. and eduKURa are interchangeable terms and are the same legal entity.
By subscribing as a student on Edukura ("the website," "website," Edukura.com.au," “eduKURaEDUCATE”), you ("student") accept the conditions that follow.
The Edukura platform is used to handle all payments. By using the Edukura website, you agree to pay any tutor listed on Edukura via the Edukura platform. This applies to all sessions, including compensation adjustments.
When connecting a credit or debit card, you may notice a $1.11 verification and instant reversal on your online invoice. This verification validates your account but does not charge your credit or debit card.
If payment fails when applying the session charge, Edukura will alert you and allow you to address the payment problem.
Please note that direct payments using cash or other methods are not permitted.
To ensure tutors are financially and fairly compensated for their services, the following requirements apply:
Every session is pre-paid according to the tutor's hourly fee into a Stripe Account and protected by an Advance Payment Guarantee. The payment is released after a successful session.
The Advance Payment Guarantee serves as a form of insurance. Should the tutor fail to meet the agreed-upon obligation of service, the advance payment is refunded to the student.
As soon as a tutor agrees to a lesson with you, Edukura notifies you. The Notification displays the lesson start and finish time, subject, and total price.
You can refer to your Transaction History where you can monitor your tuition and corresponding fees.
Any concerns about the hours recorded should be raised with the tutor (before the lesson), who may then change the lesson specifics.
At the end of the tutoring session, the following will occur:
Under Edukura’s business model, tutors on the Edukura platform are self-employed and autonomous. Tutors are responsible for resolving complaints as amicably as possible and in everyone's best interest.
For more specific information, please refer to the Terms & Conditions.
The Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria offers a free phone service to resolve disputes and discuss options, negotiation strategies, and mediation. Call (03) 9603 8370 or 1800 658 528 for country callers.
Tutors can change and determine their hourly rates. When tutors make any changes to their hourly rate, students who have successfully requested a tutoring session before the fee change will be charged according to the old hourly rates; otherwise, the revised hourly rates apply.
Suppose you are contemplating engaging a tutor for online tutoring, proofreading, or other tasks. In that case, you must have a comprehensive dialogue with the tutor and come to an understanding regarding the pricing and your expectations.
All fees must be paid via the Edukura platform.
Students are free to cancel 10 minutes before the tutoring session commences without losing their fees. If students fail to attend within the 10-minute grace period, they regrettably forfeit their fees. Under these circumstances, tutors are paid in full.

Tutors must go through a rigorous registration process in order to be selected for a listing on the site.
Written credentials, competency exams, providing their education level, explaining any professional experience, and writing about their overall experience teaching and tutoring are all part of this procedure.
When tutors submit their credentials, our team personally checks the information to verify that they fulfil eduKURa's requirements. eduKURa will not list their services on the eduKURa platform if they do not comply.
By selecting "Background check on file" on the search results page, you may refine your tutor search parameters to only include tutors who have a background check on file.
Please feel free to ask a tutor you're considering for further information.
Before you arrange a session or meet with a tutor, it's critical that you convey all facts about the class, cancellation rules, prices, and expectations via eduKURa Messages.
In addition to the standard hourly rate for completed classes, you will be charged:
Tutors may charge for asynchronous work such as editing/proofreading and lesson material preparation, but you should clarify the elements of your request via eduKura Messages before any work begins or is done, including consenting to any rate adjustments, time limitations, and scheduling.
Tutors establish their own cancellation policies, including costs, and adhere to them as specified in their profiles. Before committing to engage with a teacher in any form, you should always read and understand their cancellation policy. Please note that some students who enrol in particular programmes may not be able to see information about cancellation procedures mentioned in Tutor's public profile. Before arranging a class, please enquire directly with teachers about any cancellation or no-show rules.
Tutors can charge for any time spent with a student, including time spent waiting for a lesson to start if a student is late and time spent with a student after the class has ended. Before consenting to a class, you should double-check this information with your teacher.
Tutors may agree to purchase resources (textbooks, supplies, etc.) on behalf of a student prior to a planned lesson in exchange for reimbursement from the student. This is OK and should be stated prior to the start of the course. eduKURa advises tutors and students to be cautious while lending each other goods, as our staff will be unable to assist if an item goes stolen or is not returned.
If your lesson is taking place online, we recommend reviewing our online tutoring FAQ and video tutorials to learn how to utilise the Online Lesson Tool's features so you're prepared for your first lesson.
When your lesson time arrives, go to your account Dashboard and select "Join My Online Lesson" on the left-hand side to connect with your teacher.
Please contact us by clicking the Yellow Support icon in the bottom-right corner of this page to terminate your account. Customer Support will check that your account balance is resolved before contacting you via the email address associated with your account to confirm that it has been closed. Please contact Customer Support if you'd want to reactivate your eduKURa account at a later time.
