Student/Teacher Relationships Are Key!

If we want our children to shine, if we want to see them truly believe that they can reach the moon, then we must focus more on our relationships, before we even think about propelling their academic abilities. Breaking down the walls of mistrust can be hard, it takes time, but once children know that we have their back, there’s no stopping them in achieving their absolute best. All the while the children are safe in the knowledge that if they make a mistake, it’s more than ok!!! Here are a few of my favourites:
- Listen when they speak
- Respect their decisions
- Look them in the eye
- Defend them when they ask for help
- Believe them
- Trust them
- Allow them the freedom to choose
- Give them time
- Joke
- Set fair boundaries
- Allow them to make decisions
- Build their confidence
- Guide them through difficult times
- All them to know you also find life hard sometimes
- Allow all emotions
- Be human ❤️
This graph is the only graph I have on my wall! ❤️‘Once children know you truly care about them, they will reach the moon!’
